  1. Summer Pop Band Concerts - 91st Anniversary!

    Join the Galveston Beach Band every Tuesday evening this summer beginning June 4th at 7:30 PM for a weekly outdoor summer pop band concert. This year is the 91st Anniversary of the Summer Pop Band Concerts. Every concert is FREE & offers great musical entertainment for the entire family! Mr. Frank Incaprera Jr. leads the Galveston Beach Band, which is just as much a part of Galveston summers as snow cones, flip flops, & trips to the beach. The concerts entertain & delight audiences of all ages with a diverse mix of much loved show tunes, big band numbers, & jazz. A special "Children's Parade" happens at every concert. Join your neighbors, friends, & family by attending band performances at the historic Eugenia & George Sealy Pavilion at Mary Moody Northern Plaza located at 24th Street and Sealy, across from Rosenberg Library. Family-friendly entertainment attracts a casual crowd of locals & tourists to the downtown site. Concerts begin at 7:30 PM every Tuesday through August 13th.

  1. Juneteenth Parade & Picnic

    June 19, 2019, 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ Ball (26th to 41st)

    The Juneteenth Celebration Parade will be on Wednesday, June 19th beginning at 12:00 PM. This year the Parade will begin at 26th & Ball and travel west on Ball to 41st Street, ending at Wright Cuney Park where a picnic will follow the parade. Line-up begins at 11:00 AM on 26th Street between Ball and Postoffice.

  2. Flamingo Fest Golf Cart Parade

    June 22, 2019, 11:30 AM - 3:00 PM @ 20th & Postoffice

    The Postoffice Committee of the Downtown Partnership will host “Pink Flamingo Fest" to include a decorated golf cart parade on Saturday, June 22, 2019. Line-up will be at 12:00 PM near 24th & Postoffice. From 1:00 PM until approximately 2:00 PM, they will complete a loop around Postoffice & Church between 24th & 20th Street, passing down Church Street once & Postoffice Street twice, before coming to a stop on Postoffice between 20th & 21st Street. Once the parade is completed, all the golf carts will line up/park on Postoffice between 20th & 21st Streets until 5:00 PM. This one block closure is expect to occur from approximately 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The parade route itself will be briefly barricaded by the City's Traffic division to allow for the loop to occur & then all streets except for Postoffice from 20th to 21st will immediately reopen.
