  1. 13th Annual Bike Around The Bay

    October 12, 2019 - October 13, 2019 @ Ferry Landing -> Harborside Drive -> 25th Street -> Seawall Blvd -> 81st Street -> Moody Gardens -> Jones Drive -> Stewart Road -> 61st Street -> I-45 Causeway

    Bike Around the Bay returns for its thirteenth year in a fully supported two-day, 170-mile bicycle ride around Galveston Bay that showcases the natural beauty of Galveston Bay & benefits the Galveston Bay Foundation. Bike Around the Bay began with the goal of bringing people together from all over to see & experience Galveston Bay. The ride will begin in Baytown, TX on Saturday, October 12, 2019. Participants will make their way to Galveston via Ferry Landing to Harborside Drive to 25th St to Seawall Blvd to 81st St & overnight at Moody Gardens on the 20th. On the 13th, the participants will move from Moody Gardens to Jones Drive to Stewart Road to 61st St & on to the Causeway.

  2. O'Connell Homecoming

    October 17, 2019 - October 19, 2019

    Join O'Connell College Preparatory School in celebrating their 2019 Homecoming on October 17th-19th! The Annual Snake Dance will begin on Thursday, October 17th at 6:00 PM beginning at 23rd & Postoffice. Then, come out Friday, October 18th for the Homecoming Parade at 1:00 PM! The parade route will proceed from 23rd and Avenue M, down 23rd Street to Ball, from Ball to 21st Street, 21st Street to Strand, Strand to 25th Street, and 25th Street to Avenue N. The Homecoming Football game will begin at 7:00 PM on Saturday, October 19th at Courville Stadium! Come watch the Buccaneers take on Bryan Brazos Christian!

  3. Toughest 10K Causeway Run

    October 19, 2019, 7:30 AM - 10:30 AM @ I-45 Causeway; Teichman Road Exit; 89th Street

    The Toughest 10K returns to the Galveston on Saturday, October 19th, 2019. The competitive race is the second in a series of three Bridge races, hosted by Running Sport Alliance, and features a timed, scenic route along the I-45 Causeway. A portion of 89th Street between the Feeder Road and Teichman Road will temporarily be closed beginning at 6:45 AM and will reopen immediately following the race.

  4. 22nd Annual ARToberFEST

    October 19, 2019, 10:00 AM - October 20, 2019, 5:00 PM @ Postoffice St (20th to 23rd) & 22nd Street (Market to Church)

    ARToberFEST returns for their 22nd year, on October 19th and 20th to the historic Downtown area! The Juried Fine Art Festival is hosted by The Grand 1894 Opera House, and features a wide variety of art, including ceramics, glass, jewelry, metal, painting, drawing, photography, textiles, wood, and mixed media approaches in a beautiful setting. There will also be live music, food and fun to enjoy! ARToberFEST will be on 22nd Street (between Market and Church) and on Postoffice St (between 21st and 23rd Streets).

    Join Ball High School in celebrating their 2019 Homecoming on October 23rd-25th! The Homecoming Parade will begin on Wednesday, October 23rd at 5:30 PM beginning at 41st & Avenue P. The parade route will line-up on Avenue P between 41st and 45th Streets, and 43rd Street between Avenue O and Avenue Q at 4:00 PM. They will proceed from Avenue P to 39th Street, 39th Street to Seawall, Seawall to 35th Street, 35th Street to Avenue O, and back to Ball High. The Homecoming Football game will begin at 7:00 PM on Friday, October 25th at Courville Stadium! Come watch the Tors take on BF Terry High School!

  7. 38th Annual Island Oktoberfest

    October 25, 2019 - October 26, 2019 @ 24th Street (Church to Ball) & Winnie (23rd to 25th)

    The 38th Annual Island Oktoberfest, hosted by First Lutheran Church, returns October 25th and 26th for a fun Fall celebration of German music, food, sweets and drinks as well as arts & crafts, auctions, vendors, and kids activities! The two-day event will be held on 24th Street (between Church and Ball) and Winnie Street (between 23rd and 25th Streets). This area will be closed to traffic beginning Thursday, October 24th at 9:00 AM and will reopen on Sunday, October 27th at 12:00 PM.

  8. 8th Annual Daily News Press Run

    The Daily News Press Run returns for their 8th annual Walk/Run/Jog to support the Newspapers In Education program on Saturday, October 26th, 2019. Newspapers in Education provides resources that use the newspaper to develop reading comprehension skills, critical thinking and a better understanding of the way the world relates to the classroom. Featuring certified Galveston Causeway courses, an exciting Kid's 1K, vendor booths, food, drinks, snacks, moonwalks, music, a costume contest and much more, this race is fun for everyone!

  9. 18th Annual Lone Star Rally

    October 31, 2019 - November 3, 2019

    The largest 4 day motorcycle rally in North America is returning to Galveston for its 18th year in a row. From October 31st to November 3rd, this rally will include concerts, attractions, exhibits, & vendors throughout Galveston’s Downtown & Seawall Boulevard. Admission is free. Lone Star Rally festivities will be concentrated in Galveston’s historic downtown & Seawall Blvd. Seawall Boulevard will be subject to traffic closures from 19th Street to 25th Street, beginning Wednesday, October 30th at 9 AM. Eastbound traffic will remain open during the Rally dates to both vehicles and motorcycles. Westbound traffic will be routed north down 19th Street to Avenue O, west to 25th Street, and south to Seawall Boulevard. 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th streets between Mechanic and Harborside will be closed for vendor setups.
