The City of Galveston's water system is stabilizing and water supply is steadily improving. We’re relaxing water restrictions to Stage 3, but we remain under a boil water notice.
WATER RESTRICTIONS
As of Saturday at 12:30 p.m., we're relaxing water restrictions from Stage 5 to Stage 3. Under Stage 3, landscape irrigation is prohibited.
Private car and boat wash and pool filling may occur on a limited basis. Residents East of the Seawall may perform these water uses on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Residents west of the Seawall may perform these tasks on Wednesdays and Fridays, as outlined in the city's drought contingency plan.
Under Stage 3, residents are able to wash clothes and run dishwashers.
We remain under a boil water notice. The City has sent water samples to the lab and is awaiting those results. We will notify the public as soon as we're able to lift the boil water notice.
WATER SUPPLY
The City's water supply tanks are at or nearing typical operating ranges. Pressure is normal and ranging between 55 to 65 psi.
The City is providing water service to all areas of the island. If you do not have water in your home, it is likely due to an isolated shutoff due to repair work.
