The City of Galveston had a successful day distributing nearly 5,000 cases of water to Galveston residents at three distribution centers (Island Community Center, Schlitterbahn, and Wright Cuney.)
The City of Galveston is waiting for additional water supplies from the state, but due to the widespread nature of this week's event and transportation challenges it has not yet arrived. Once we secure additional water pallets, the City of Galveston will announce future distribution sites and immediately distribute the water.
This is a dynamic situation and there are many moving parts. We remain in constant communication with state emergency management officials and appreciate their partnership throughout this event. We continue to monitor the supply chain and are prepared to act swiftly to receive additional water supplies.
Once we have a more established timeline on the arrival of supplies, we will update residents via the website, social media, emergency alerts, and local media.
