The COVID-19 pandemic has not stopped the excellent service in Galveston. In July, the Daily News asked readers to nominate their favorite businesses in more than 100 categories, and the City of Galveston's McGuire-Dent Recreation Center at Menard Park was voted "Best Fitness/Workout Center" by the 2020 Readers of the Galveston County Daily News. The Parks and Recreation department is determined to provide top-notch service to everyone on the island.
The hours of operation are Sunday through Friday 8-8 p.m. and Saturday 8-5 p.m.
