Las playas publicas de Galveston están cerradas en respuesta al virus COVID-19

Galveston, TX- marzo 29, 2020 – Dos ordenes están en efecto desde el domingo por la tarde, marzo 29, 2020 a las 2:45 p.m. cerrando todas las playas publicas en Galveston y restringiendo el trafico de vehículos en la playa oeste al final de la Seawall. Por orden de el estado, está orden estará en vigor por siete días hasta el domingo abril 5, 2020.

Las ordenes son parte a la respuesta de la Ciudad de Galveston a la crisis de salud pública del COVID-19. A partir de el sábado por la tarde, el reporte mas reciente por parte del Distrito de la Salud del Condado de Galveston ha confirmado 60 casos de COVID-19 dentro el condado. La prioridad mas importante de la Ciudad de Galveston es la salud y seguridad de sus residentes y es mediante la orientación de las autoridades de salud federales y locales que se están tomando estas medidas.

La Ciudad de Galveston ha implementado una serie de ordenes bajo la declaración de emergencia del marzo 16, 2020 firmado por el alcalde Jim Yarbrough para prevenir la propagación del COVID-19.

La Ciudad de Galveston había tratado de evitar el cierre de las playas publicas debido a nuestro deseo de que residentes tengan un área para ejercicio y tomar aire fresco mientras mantienen el distanciamiento social. Sin embargo, es evidente que existen muchas personas visitando de otras áreas en desafío a las recomendaciones locales, estatales y recomendaciones/restricciones de viaje a nivel nacional. La Oficina General de Terrenos de Texas ( The Texas General Land Office , por sus siglas en inglés) no permitirá que la playa este abierta solo a residentes. Como playa publica, deberá estar cerrada para todos.

Esperamos darles la bienvenida a visitantes de regreso a Galveston tan pronto y estas ordenes sean retiradas.

Bajo estas dos ordenes , las cuales están adjuntas, será un delito menor Clase C si una persona es encontrada en violación a la orden relacionada al cierre de las playas publicas de Galveston

Estas ordenes están impuestas por el Departamento de Policía de Galveston, la Oficina del Mariscal de la ciudad y la Patrulla de Playa de Galveston.
