Municipal Court of Record
In an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19, the Municipal Court is closed to the public until further notice. If your case is scheduled on a court docket during the closure, it will be reset by court staff. Please contact the court at firstname.lastname@example.org to report any change of address as all court notices will be sent to the address on file. Please submit any questions via email as staff will not be available by phone.
Payments can be submitted at municipalonlinepayments.com/galvestontx or by calling 1-800-530-8084.
In some cases, driver safety course requests, deferred dispositions, and extension requests can be made online. Please visit municipalonlinepayments.com/galvestontx to review your options.
Payments or any other request can also be sent via mail, postmarked by the given due date on your citation, to Galveston Municipal Court, P.O. Box 17252, Galveston, TX 77552.
Please email your notice of contest to email@example.com by the given due date on your citation and include your citation number, full name, mailing address, and telephone number and your case will be scheduled for a pre-trial hearing.
For parking citations, email your notice of contest within 14 days of the issuance of your citation and include the same information as above. Your case will be scheduled for a hearing with a hearing officer at a later date. If mailing your notice of contest via regular mail, it must be postmarked by the due date.

The Municipal Court is responsible for providing assistance during each session of the court, maintaining and preparing all of the municipal dockets, recording the disposition of each case, receiving all court documents and defendant correspondence, as well as balancing and closing of accounts, and preparing requisitions for purchasing and refunding.
Upon instruction and approval of the Judge of the Galveston Municipal Court and/or the City Attorney’s office, defendants are issued payment plans and alternative sentencing. Such alternatives include, but are not limited to, deferred disposition and defensive driving. Summons and/or warrants are issued for defendants that fail to pay their fines and juveniles are blocked from issuance or renewal of a driver’s license until court responsibilities are fulfilled.
Payments shall be made by cashier’s check, money order, or cash. Do not mail cash. Credit card payments can be made by calling 1-800-530-8084. To pay by credit you must know your full balance as only full balances can be processed by the credit card system. Your ticket balance can be obtained by calling 409-765-3740.
You may pay online. A convenience fee will be charged for both credit card and Internet payments. All citations are given a due date. You must notify the court of your intentions on or before the given due date. If the due date falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or city holiday, you will be given until the following work day to submit payment or intentions.
Failure to Respond
Failure to respond and answer citations as required by law may result in any one or several of the following:
- The issuance of a warrant of arrest at an additional fee.
- Referral of the unpaid fine to a collection agency and additional fees.
- Denial of renewal of your driver's license by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) and additional fees.
