City of Galveston lifts water restrictions

Galveston, TX – Nov. 17, 2018 – The City of Galveston has lifted all water restrictions after the Gulf Coast Water Authority completed its repairs to a main water line servicing the island.

The Gulf Coast Water Authority completed its repairs to a 42-inch water line serving the island on Friday. The water authority flushed the line and sent bacteriological samples to a lab to ensure water quality. The results returned Saturday showing good water quality and the water authority turned the line back on.

The repaired water line is now delivering water to the island again. As a result, the City of Galveston has lifted its water restrictions in place since Wednesday at 12 a.m.
